The Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura

The sanskrit name for the Solar Plexus chakra is Manipura, meaning ‘jewell in the city’ and the jewel it refers to is your mind.

The solar plexus chakra is very complex.  It is the chakra of the mind.   It is also a very physical chakra, ruling your digestive system, spleen and liver, as well as your back.  From this chakra, your moral judgments emerge and is from which your draw your moral courage to stand up for what you believe in.

But a dominant solar plexus chakra leads to bullying, aggressive and egotistical behaviour.  A weak solar plexus chakra results in guilt, lack of confidence and fear.

A solar plexus Chakra that is in balance makes you assertive, disciplined and discerning.  You face the challenges of life with courage and integrity.

If you have an unbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra it may result in ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome liver and digestive problems.

The sola plexus chakra is governed by the sun and, when it is in blance, it is reflected an a tangible radiance.  People with a balanced solar plexus chakra also have healthy intuition and are warm in nature.  They are the people that can rely on their ‘gut instincts’ o’r hunches’.

A good way to help balance the Solar Plexus chakra is by fasting, as it is strongly associated with food and digestion.  You need to cleanse the digestive system and let is rest, by fasting.  Fasting is one of the oldest forms of healing known to man.

For 2 -3 days before fasting eat only raw food, drinking plenty of water or herbal teas and 1 vegetable and 1 fruit juice a day.  Make sure you avoid caffeine, cigarettes and alcohol.

On fasting days you must:  rise early, exercise, drink 4 large glasses of juice (organic), drink plenty of water or herbal teas, scrub your skin and use alternating showers.  Meditate and go to bed early.
